Brooke Smallwood
Hi, I’m Brooke!
I’m a mom of three, a hairstylist, and a nurse.
I’ve been behind the chair for more than 10 years and I love the creativity that comes with doing hair, but even more than that, I love the people. One of my favorite parts of this career is getting to know my clients beyond their hair—the conversations, the laughs, the life updates, and the relationships that grow over time.
I especially love creating lived-in, dimensional color that grows out beautifully and gives my clients more freedom between appointments. My goal is to create hair that works with your lifestyle, not against it, while making your time in the salon feel like a little break from the rest of the world. I want you to be able to sit back, relax, feel taken care of, and leave feeling refreshed, confident, and excited about your hair.
Over the last several years, I also took a leap of faith and pursued another calling: nursing. After years in the beauty industry, I made the decision to return to school while continuing to work behind the chair and raise my family. I completed my LPN program and am continuing my education toward becoming an RN.
Right now, my weeks are intentionally split between both careers. I take clients in the salon on Mondays & Fridays and spend Tuesday through Thursday in nursing school. My long-term goal is to continue building a life that includes both nursing and hairstyling, because each fulfills a different part of who I am.
I pursued nursing because I felt called to care for people in more ways than one. While hairstyling and nursing may look like completely different careers, at the heart of both is the same thing: people.
Whether I’m helping someone feel like herself again in my chair or caring for a patient during a vulnerable moment, both roles give me the opportunity to serve, connect, and make someone’s day a little better.
Outside of the salon and school, my family is at the center of everything I do. My kids are a huge part of what motivates me to keep pursuing my goals, and you’ll often find me at the ballpark cheering on my son or watching my daughter cheer from the sidelines.
I also love concerts, music, trying new restaurants, shopping, beach vacations, boating on the lake, Razorback baseball and football, and—of course—a really good cup of coffee. I’m happiest when I’m making memories with the people I love and always having a little something to look forward to.
A few fun facts about me: I have a slight obsession with Little People toys that somehow turned into a full-blown collection, I’m completely obsessed with miniature Schnauzers, and my love language might just be cake and pizza. I have two Schnauzers, Yeti and Pebbles, who I absolutely adore.
I want my chair to feel like a place where you can come exactly as you are. A place to relax, laugh a little, talk about life, and take a moment for yourself.
I can’t wait to meet you, get to know you, and welcome you into my chair.
